Ware Malcomb designed Hej!Workshop by Industrious, a collaborative flexible workspace in San Francisco’s Mid-Market district, accommodating up to 500 workers with a mix of offices, shared spaces, and amenities.
Ware Malcomb completed Hej!Workshop by Industrious, a premier flexible workspace in downtown San Francisco’s Mid-Market district. Ware Malcomb provided interior architecture and design services for the 45,000 square foot project, which occupies the top floor of Ingka Centres occupied by San Francisco’s first Ikea store at 945 Market Street.
Hej!Workshop by Industrious represents a collaboration between Industrious and Ingka Centres, experts in creating unique experiences and meeting places. Ingka Group, which owns IKEA stores and Ingka Centres, joined forces with Industrious to create Hej!Workshop, furnishing this collaborative space with IKEA furniture. Industrious is the world’s best flexible workplace company, with a global network spanning more than 200 flexible workspaces in more than 65 markets. Industrious provides productive and engaging workplaces for individuals and companies of all sizes and stages.
Ware Malcomb’s design accommodates up to 500 workers, designing 176 offices, including shared common spaces, individual glass-encased offices, larger suites, and a 60-person training room. Ingka provided a design palette of natural wood and pastel colors which complement the industrial-inspired Industrious palette to showcase the collection of partnered furniture throughout. Tenants can rent space monthly or on a longer-term lease and have access to a series of conference rooms, huddle rooms, phone rooms, full café/lounge spaces, two kitchens, and a series of all-inclusive amenities.
Ware Malcomb is also working with developers, landlords and tenants to bring new life to additional well-known addresses in San Francisco, the Bay Area and beyond. The firm is repositioning buildings and offices with refreshed, lively amenities and community spaces, helping people do their best work. Industrious is one of more than 100 corporate accounts that the firm manages nationally, and Ware Malcomb works with one in three Fortune 50 companies.
